Thermador Appliance Repair in San Diego
Thermador puts more electronics between the cook and the burner than anything else in these kitchens, so read the code on the display out when you call, exactly as it appears, and then treat it as the first line of the diagnosis rather than the verdict. A sensor reporting an impossible value is frequently reporting it accurately, and the reason it is seeing that value sits somewhere the control cannot look: a cooling blower that has slowed, a connector heat-cycled loose behind the panel, or a vent path boxed in during a remodel.
Two Thermador behaviors get reported as faults and are not. ExtraLow simmer cycles the burner on and off by design, so a flame that comes and goes on the lowest setting is the feature working. Freedom induction protects itself with a cooling fan and a temperature limit, so a cooktop that steps its power down after a long session on a hot afternoon in Poway or Escondido is doing what it was built to do — unless the fan or the intake beneath it is obstructed, in which case the step-down arrives far sooner and keeps arriving. What is a genuine fault: pan detection that now rejects a pan the cooktop used to accept, one burner that will not light while its neighbors on the same manifold do, and a wall oven whose display goes dark mid-cycle.

Start from the fault instead
- Why is my oven not heating properly?
- Why is my Sub-Zero refrigerator not cooling?
- Why is there water under my refrigerator?
- What is the loud humming or rattling from my refrigerator?
- Why does frost keep building up in my freezer?
- Why is my wine cooler not holding temperature?
- Why has my ice maker stopped making ice?
The cubes had been getting smaller and half hollow for a year before I called. He put a gauge on the water valve before anything came apart, found scale in the screen and up the fill tube. Said a new module would have left me right where I started.
The wine cabinet under the bar held its number in the morning and was two or three degrees off by late afternoon, every day. He left a probe sitting between the bottles instead of trusting the front panel. Condenser was corroded and there was almost no air getting to that grille.
We only use the place part of the year and came back to water tracking out from under the fridge and a sheet of ice on the freezer floor. Not a burst line, the drain had frozen closed. He flushed it and checked the ice maker fittings while he was down there.
